AP Cybersecurity - Lab: Log Analysis (Station 2)

AP Cybersecurity - Hands-On Lab - Unit 3
Station 02 - Log Analysis
Objective: incompletePoints 0 / 20
Mission

This is the auth log from a compromised server. One external attacker brute-forced their way in. Grep the log to cut through the noise, then report the attacker's source IP and the exact timestamp of the successful login they achieved.

$ grep -i
Need a nudge?
One failed login is normal. Grep Failed password and look for a single IP failing many times in seconds against an invalid user. Then grep that IP and find the one line where it turns into Accepted - that timestamp is the breach.
Simulated log - no live systems. Prototype of rebuilt Station 02.
