My actors disappeared when I pressed Reset

It compiled and it is still wrong

My actors disappeared when I pressed Reset

This page is part of Intro to Java with Greenfoot. It assumes you have reached lesson 1.2. Opening it is not counted against you and is not tracked as progress.

What it actually means

Reset builds a brand new world, and actors you placed by hand are not part of that build.

The usual causes

Ranked by how often each one turns out to be the answer. Work down the list.

  1. The actors were dragged in by hand rather than created in code.
  2. The world has no prepare() method yet, which is Unit 3.

How to fix it

This is working as designed. To make actors appear every time, put the addObject calls in the world's prepare() method, which Unit 3 covers. Until then, drag them in again after each Reset.
